GLEIFの「リンク」イニシアチブは、企業の識別可能性と発見可能性を世界的に向上させることで、取引相手のデューデリジェンス・プロセスを効率化し、国際取引の透明性を高めることを目的としています。

各LEIレコードには、現地の当局のソースによって登録された主要な参照情報が含まれており、世界中の取引主体を明確かつ一意に識別できます。「リンク」イニシアチブでは、参加する公的機関が登録した主体のLEIレコードに専用のURLが追加され、該当する登録機関のウェブサイト上で、各主体の公式登録データおよび関連文書に容易かつ直接的にアクセスできます。

これにより、世界中のデータユーザーは、顧客の本人確認 (KYC)、サプライヤー確認 (KYS) チェック、およびその他のデューデリジェンス義務が大幅に効率化できます。その結果、世界中のデータユーザーは、まず対象の登録機関を特定して正しいウェブサイトに移動し、それを現地語に翻訳したうえで、法人登録番号を使用して組織を手動で検索する必要がなくなります。
